Catching up with the Sudseeker’s and HC Baletky!

Late last year, we caught up with two CHWC Teams from opposites sides of the Atlantic! Meet Sudseeker’s Captain, Les from Fort McMurray and HC Baletky Captain, Pavel from the Czech Republic as we talk The Cup 2022!

Les, the Sudseeker’s are still on board with the CARHA Hockey World Cup in 2022 after postponement – what made this decision so easy for the team?
We made a commitment to the game and each other that we would play till we die. Life is too short not to share the love of the game with friends.

Have you made your return to the ice yet, or are you planning on making your return soon?
We have been playing in a bubble so far this year and enjoying it very much!

How are you and your team planning to use the extra time to prepare for the CARHA Hockey World Cup, postponed to March of 2022?
The extra time we have had due to Covid-19 has given us time to really think about our priorities, so we have spent the summer working on our golf game 😊

Have the Sudseeker’s participated in a CARHA Hockey World Cup before? If so, what would you say to teams that may be on the fence about registering now that they’re able to make it in 2022?
We are looking forward to playing again in Richmond 2022, and seeing friends we have made from previous years. Hope to see you in 2022! - Les and the Sudseekers



Pavel, HC Baletky is still on board with the CARHA Hockey World Cup in 2022 after postponement – what made this decision so easy for the team?
In the current silly times, even this gives us a bit of optimism that everything will be all right again soon! We were very sorry not to be able to participate in the tournament, which we were very much looking forward to. Because we love hockey, the decision to participate in the tournament was pretty simple, even if it was hosted on Mars!

Have you made your return to the ice yet, or are you planning on making your return soon?
At present, all our activities are restricted and prohibited. We even try to see if there's any possibility in other states but it’s all the same. So at the moment we are just waiting for the situation to change. It's very sad, but we cant wait to play again soon.

Have HC Baletky participated in a CARHA Hockey World Cup before? If so, what would you say to teams that may be on the fence about registering now that they’re able to make it in 2022?
We've never been to a CARHA tournament, so we don't know what to expect. Despite this, we couldn't wait until a few weeks before this year's canceled start. In conclusion, we hope to meet everyone in 1.5 years and in good health! – Pavel and HC Baletky
