The CARHA World Cup has graced Richmond's presence this week bringing an array of young and old rec hockey players and enthusiasts. I have been blessed not only to have the health to play in this tournament but to have the opportunity for the first time at the ripe age of 49 to play against not 1 but 2 European hockey teams. Its not everyday in the middle of April on a Monday afternoon I'd be lacing up to play against a team from Finland. Watching them move the puck around, displaying a European style of hockey I have only seen on tv. For most hockey bums like myself that would have been one for the books. Because of CARHA Hockey and their world development bringing International flavour, I was able to play the next game on a Tuesday morning against a team from Sweden. I can tell you I never thought in my latter years I would have had the honor to play 2 European teams back to back. I would like to thank CARHA Hockey and the City of Richmond for providing me this opportunity, and I'm sure I can speak for hundreds of other players in this CARHA Hockey World Cup. A big thank you for a wonderful and memorable experience. Bryce Perry Pitt Meadow Gamblers
