Original story posted here. Check out Tourism Richmond's list of the best patios in the city and start planning your trip!

Sunny days are beckoning, and so are local patios. Richmond has plenty of spots for you to sit back, relax, and enjoy a meal and a drink. We’ve rounded up some of our favourite patios that are open for business right now—read on for details!

BLUE CANOE WATERFRONT RESTAURANT
#140 – 3866 Bayview Street

Arguably one of the best patios in Steveston, diners can enjoy a view of the ever-busy Fisherman’s Wharf and marina at Blue Canoe Waterfront Restaurant. The covered deck is also heated, so you’ll stay warm and cozy throughout your meal. You’ll find west coast classics like their fish & chips and fish tacos on their Ocean Wise menu; but if you’re looking to splurge, try their infamous "yacht-sized" chilled seafood tower.

CATCH KITCHEN + BAR
#200 - 3866 Bayview Street

You'll find Catch Kitchen + Bar on the second level, right above Blue Canoe. This restaurant also offers some great views of Fisherman's Wharf and the bustling marina—the 270-degree panoramic view is not to be missed. Pair the amazing views with menu items like the fresh mussels, crispy cod burger, or the New York Steak.

FLYING BEAVER BAR AND GRILL
4760 Inglis Drive

The Flying Beaver Bar & Grill is where you can watch Harbour Air’s sea planes take off and land while kicking back with a beer on their expansive patio. Located on Sea Island, just south of Vancouver International Airport’s South Terminal, diners here can enjoy views of the Fraser River. Pair the fantastic water views with menu items such as a delectable wild BC salmon burger with a hoisin ginger glaze or a platter of classic chicken wings available in a variety of seasonings and sauces.

EMBER INDIAN KITCHEN
#135 – 6168 London Road

Don’t let the name fool you—this is not your traditional Indian restaurant. Ember Indian Kitchen’s open-air concept dining room and patio will transport you to a whole new world of flavours. Located at London Landing Wharf, the restaurant is perfectly situated for a post-dinner stroll along the South Dyke Trail, providing you with a perfect excuse to walk off an excellent Indian and East African-fusion dinner. Try delicious items like the Palak Paneer (a vegetarian spinach dish) and the Kuku Paka (chicken in coconut sauce).

BRITANNIA BREWING STEVESTON
#250 – 12240 Second Avenue

Britannia Brewing Company’s taphouse in Steveston benefits from having a south-facing patio: it means sun all day long! Treat yourself to a tasting flight of four different beers brewed right in Richmond while catching some rays. And when it comes to food, their menu is full of delicious burgers, fish & chips, sandwiches, and much more.

CHOP STEAKHOUSE & BAR
10251 St. Edwards Drive

Your friends won’t believe that you’re in Richmond when you send a photo of yourself dining on Chop Steakhouse & Bar’s patio. That’s because it (seriously) looks like it belongs in a resort. Located at the Sandman Signature Vancouver Airport, Chop’s patio has pod-like tables which ensure physical distancing measures are in place. It’s the perfect place enjoy some prime rib, filet mignon, or some baby back ribs.

MILLTOWN BAR & GRILL
#101 – 9191 Bentley Street

Even though this restaurant is technically located in Richmond, you’ll have to cross the Arthur Laing Bridge into south Vancouver to get to this local gem. Milltown Bar & Grill boasts multiple patios, along with some fantastic water views. Catch a glimpse of the brand-new Milltown Marina and the North Shore Mountains on the north side, or watch birds and planes take off on the south side of the restaurant. Indulge in items off their Pacific Northwest inspired menu—and note that they even serve weekend brunch!⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Book yourself in for a tee time at the golf club and enjoy a selection of share plates, salads, classic burgers, and more on their picturesque patio surrounded by water features, a charming bridge, and even a working water wheel!

TEMPORARILY EXPANDED PATIOS
